Research directions

The mission of the lab:

Our vision is to leverage our expertise in experimental hydrodynamics to mitigate the global challenge of climate change by devising novel methods of renewable energy harvesting and energy-efficient submersible systems. In order to achieve these goals, we employ cutting-edge state-of-the-art experimental hydrodynamics tools, including Stereo Particle Image Velocimetry, high-speed imaging, drag and lift measurements, and flow visualization techniques based on dye and hydrogen bubbles. We combine experiments with theoretical and numerical simulations using strategic collaborations. Specifically, our research is focused on fluid-structure interaction, flow control, bio-inspired fluid mechanics, and renewable energy.
